STARBASE Indiana-Fort Wayne was founded at the 122nd Fighter Wing, Fort Wayne Air National Guard Base, Indiana by Col David Augustine (Ret).

We welcomed our first class on February 14, 2012, and have been proudly serving the teachers and youth of Northeast Indiana ever since.
2025 SUMMER STEAM PROGRAMS
STARBASE Fort Wayne is excited to offer four weeks of free summer programs! Please see below for the dates and a description of each program.

Summer camp registration is now CLOSED for all 2025 camps!
Thank you for registering your student for camp! Registration is now closed! You will receive an email by Monday, the 21st, with your student's registration status.

Please note, due to limited space, registering a student for camp does not guarantee a camp placement. We will be processing all student registrations on a first come, first served basis. Campers may not be registered for a camp they previously attended and they can only register for one camp per summer.

During this 4-day excursion, incoming 5th – 8th grade students will navigate using GPS, apply math and engineering processes to build bridges, ramps, watercraft, and aircraft. They will code various robots to navigate different environments and terrains, explore scientific concepts to approach energy in an innovative way, and build upon knowledge discovered in real-time to conquer each new challenge that they face.

This hands-on camp blends science, technology, arts, and engineering to help young explorers learn how to navigate and connect with the natural world. During this 4-day camp, campers will explore the great outdoors. They will take daily nature walks, collaborate with their peers during on projects involving robotic technology, and creative nature-themed crafts. Get ready for a week filled with exploration, discovery, and endless fun!

Our Mars Colony camp is designed to have students work in small teams to simulate the assembly and operation of a permanent colony on Mars. Students will get to put their imagination to work in designing their Mars base, launching the pieces, guiding them to the correct location, and landing them safely on the surface of the planet in an intense board game-like experience. Campers will participate in real world challenges that will have direct impact upon events within the game. This camp is truly out of this world!
We will spend the week learning the basics of scratch coding, using building plans to assemble robots with different tools, and applying codes to complete various tasks. By working together in groups on the same task, we will hone our collaboration and trouble shooting skills to find multiple solutions to the problem as a team. At the end of the week, we will put our creativity and problem-solving skills to the test to become the ultimate “Task Master Team” and take home the grand prize!
